Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer (SAP Basis & Infrastructure) role at Walmart Global Tech – Enterprise Business Services (EBS) is a critical leadership position responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing large-scale SAP landscapes that support millions of global users. As part of Walmart’s Global Tech ecosystem, this role drives operational excellence, automation, cloud transformation, and high availability across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and HANA-based platforms. The position combines deep technical expertise with stakeholder leadership to ensure resilient, secure, and future-ready SAP operations.

This role requires 10–12+ years of SAP Basis and SAP infrastructure experience with hands-on leadership in large enterprise environments. The Senior Software Engineer will define SAP platform standards, guide cloud and automation initiatives, and ensure secure, compliant, and highly available SAP ecosystems. The position demands strong expertise in Linux/Windows, networking, automation tools, and DevOps practices while maintaining a customer-centric and outcome-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities

Lead administration and operations of SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, MDG, SLT, and HANA systems
Own SAP Basis operations including monitoring, capacity planning, housekeeping, and performance tuning
Design and govern enterprise monitoring using SAP Focused Run, Solution Manager (ChaRM), and Cloud ALM
Plan and execute SAP upgrades, kernel updates, support packs, and patching with minimal downtime
