The Applied Scientist II will build and adapt machine-learning solutions that help Amazon recover more value from returned products. The role focuses on India's unique returns environment, where ML models are used to determine whether returned products are sellable, identify defects and fraud, select the best recovery path, and optimize pricing.

The selected candidate will own ML problems end-to-end—from problem framing and data preparation to modeling, evaluation, production deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
